Katie Hughes
Talent Partner
Katie Hughes is the talent partner for DFJ. She joined the firm in 2012 and was promoted to partner in 2015. Katie works alongside her partners to drive their internal organizational design and development and supports the firm's entrepreneurs with their human capital strategies including executive leadership, team building, recruiting, compensation, onboarding, management, culture, and internal communications.

Katie is passionate about promoting diversity within the venture capital and entrepreneurial ecosystems, and she supports the efforts of the NVCA's Diversity Task Force and the Boardlist.

Prior to joining DFJ, Katie was a managing director of Betts Recruiting, a leading provider of go-to-market recruiting for venture-backed technology companies. She also spent time working on the 2008 gubernatorial race in North Carolina when the state elected their first female governor, Bev Perdue.

Katie earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 and serves on both its Young Alumni Leadership Council and as an advisor to their prestigious entrepreneurship-focused Adams Apprenticeship recipients. She volunteers with the SPCA and participates in a giving circle through the Women's Foundation of California.
